The mission of the PLA remains improving the quality of life of Point Loma through beautification, education, charitable activities and civic collaboration.
What does this mean to you? We DO STUFF.
The PLA now maintains 18 public spaces in Point Loma; creates a patchwork of public art with our Utility Box Project (around 44 boxes and counting); trims trees that the City of San Diego used to trim; informs members with a Facebook page, Instagram account, printed newsletter and e-blast; cleans up homeless camps and graffiti — in addition to planting trees and continuing our call for removing billboards and power lines (see History).
We have the ear of city/county/state political leaders, the SDPD, Unified Port officials, U.S. Navy leaders, the City Planning Department, Parks and Recreation Dept., and the California Coastal Commission. When we speak, they listen! We make a difference.
