Point Loma Banner Program
San Diego is a vibrant city with thousands of special events and dozens of unique neighborhoods. Banners can be one of the most colorful and festive means available to promote your information.
Banners may be used to distinguish unique characteristics about neighborhoods, celebrate special holidays, announce cultural events and market extraordinary exhibits. Banners cannot be political or religious in nature and cannot be used to advertise a product or a corporation. Because of the cost, once you create them, the most effective use of banners is to use them multiple times.
You are not required to use designated experts for your banner exhibit. You are, however, required to receive approval from the community in which you are hanging your banners to use their poles and obtain a banner permit from the City of San Diego. The banner districts in which you are hanging your banners usually have additional requirements. Like in Point Loma, there may be a contract with a specific installer, insurance requirements and a fee to rent the banner poles.
Banner design needs to be attractive and simple. Banner quality needs to meet City standards which include use of 9.25 oz Acrylic marine canvas or something similar. The banner design needs to be 2 sided. Grommets and sleeves are to be made custom for the poles you are renting. Pole locations can be provided by your banner district managing group.
