Chris and Amy Reising’s three adult children are pursuing impressive careers in health and science, and the empty nesters wanted a hobby. They chose their front yard. Over the past four years it has come alive!
Gifts of cacti in many shapes and types flourish.
Travels to southern Baja inspired the overall design and provided colorful wall tiles.
Chris is a lifelong surfer, so shells and other ocean artifacts blend into river rock and colorful blooms.
The family created the garden with items from places of sentimental value. But the project needed professional help. They acknowledge Azar Builders for the brick work, David Cooley Carpentry for the arch and JPL Landscaping for their professional assistance.
Chris and Amy Reising are lifelong educators. Amy works as a Governor’s appointee in California Teacher Credentialing, and Chris is now Executive Director of HR at San Diego County Office of Education. He also surfs the dawn patrol, daily, on the other side of the hill.
