You can’t drive by this beautiful garden. You’ll need to hike! But it’s an easy hike – level and lovely.
These colorful blooms and varied ground cover are adjacent to Bessemer Path, the bayside trail between Talbot Street and Qualtrough.
The garden is behind a San Diego landmark home. The Conard Arrington House is a ranch style house built in 1949 and designed by Roy Drew.
The folks who live there now say they are pleased with the Navy’s re-landscaping along the path, following the realignment of the underground fuel pipeline a couple years ago.
And they are happy to be recognized with the PLA Garden Award for the updated and upgraded plot designed by Torrey Pines Landscape and maintained with the help of Banister Landscape Maintenance.
